With Only 15 Years, Ravens Have Only So Many “Worst Moments”

The team that utilised to be the Browns technically by no means was the Browns.  Instead, the team that was the Browns became, as of 1996, the Ravens.

And so the Ravens have been in existence for only 15 years, giving them fewer chances for “worst moments” because the last function stoppage.

But they still have their fair share, and we broke them down today in a special edition of PFT Live*.

 Redskins worst moments on display Thursday

A full 16 teams are completed.  And 16 teams remain.  As we make the turn and head for house in our franchise-by-franchise look at the worst moments given that the last work stoppage, we’ll start with the team that won the Super Bowl that capped the last two seasons that were marred by lost games due to labor unrest — 1987 and 1982.

The Redskins, regardless of winning another Super Bowl to end the 1991 season, have had a lot of not-so-super moments because then.  We’ll count down the worst during a special edition of PFT Live* on Thursday.

Dez Bryant Says He’s Ready to Play, That His Financial Issues Are “Done”

 Dez Bryant says hes ready to play, that his financial issues are done

At times a man amongst boys throughout his rookie season, Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant ultimately ended up breaking an ankle in early December and missing the rest of the year.  In 12 games with two starts, he caught 45 passes for 561 yards and six touchdowns.

But his skills have been forgotten in an offseason in which the story lines have focused on obtaining kicked out of a mall and allegedly failing to pay for a lot of jewelry.

On Saturday, the focus returned to football, with Bryant declaring in the course of an appearance at an Oklahoma department store that he is healthy and ready to play.

“There will be an NFL season and I think we will start off on time,” Bryant said, per the Associated Press.  “I know Dallas will be prepared to go, and I’ll be ready to put on my helmet and go to work. . . .

“I’m extremely determined to remain wholesome this season.  I’m working hard and I am staying focused on that.  I’m running routes every day to get prepared.  It was 104 degrees yesterday and I was running gassers.  I really feel great and I’m ready to play.”

Bryant also said that Cowboys are working out together two or three times per week at an undisclosed location.  “We can’t be at the facility, but every little thing else is fine,” Bryant stated.  “We’re going by means of practice and acquiring prepared.  The function stoppage isn’t hurting me at all. I’m motivating myself to be ready.”

(That sound you hear is Paul Clement typing a letter to the Eighth Circuit pointing out that Bryant loves his locked-out life.)

Bryant also stated that his financial difficulties have been resolved.  “I have a deal with on it and it’s carried out,” Bryant stated.  “It’s in the past and I’m ready to go ahead from here.”

We can’t wait for the exact same thing to be stated about the lockout.

The team-by-team tour of the worst moments for each and every NFL franchise because the last work stoppage took us these days to sunny (we assume) San Diego, where the nearby football team has from time to time performed just well enough to rip out the hearts of the fan base.

We’ve picked the four worst moments, and Wednesday’s PFT Live counted them down from four to one.
