Bills Vs Browns

It’s time for Week three in the NFL. 1st, I’ll talk about the meeting in between the Buffalo Bills and the Cleveland Browns. Immediately after two weeks of play, the Bills offense ranks at 7th general (1st in rushing, 28th in passing…OUCH!!), and the defense ranks tied for 25th (24th rush, 23rd pass). The Browns offense ranks 22nd overall (tied for 11th in rushing, and 23rd in passing), and the defense ranks tied for 29th overall (18th rush, and 28th pass). Each the Bills and the Browns have quite good offensive lines, and quite very good running backs (RB’s). Each teams’ defensive coordinators [Dave Wannstedt and Dick Jauron] will have their hands full on Sunday as they attempt and slow down their opponents rushing attacks.

This game will be a tough battle, so do not let the Browns -two record fool you. The Browns are a tough, young group with a lot of talent and upside. The Bills will have to play a quite good game to come away with their 1st road win given that opening day in 2011. My prediction for the game: Bills 23, Browns 17.

Right after going 11-five in my predictions for Week 1, I went 8-8 last week (19-13 overall). Let’s see if I can rebound on my predictions for Week 3:
Panthers over the Giants (Giants have also several injuries)
Rams more than the Bears (Dissention is starting in Chicago)
Bills more than the Browns (Spiller the Thriller continues…)
Cowboys over the Buccaneers (watch out for the kneel downs)
Colts more than Jaguars (Hey Ray Bentley, its JAG-WARS not JAG-WIRES!!)
Jets over Dolphins
49ers over the Vikings
Saints more than the Chiefs
Lions over the Titans
Bengals more than the Redskins (Losing Orakpo &amp Carriker is going to hurt the Redskins D big time)
Eagles over Cardinals
Falcons more than the Chargers
Texans over the Broncos
Steelers more than the Raiders
Ravens over the Patriots
Packers more than the Seahawks

RG3: Redskins Would Have Taken Me, Not Luck, No. 1 in NFL Draft

Robert Griffin III was all smiles Thursday night, befitting the second player taken in the NFL draft. But backstage at Radio City Music Hall, the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback stated his night could have been even greater.

Griffin told ProFootballTalk.com the Redskins informed him that if they, and not the Indianapolis Colts held the No. 1 choose, they nonetheless would have taken him.

“They stated if Indianapolis would have traded with them and kept Peyton Manning, that they would have drafted me with the No. 1 general pick,” Griffin said. “So it’s not a shot at anybody, it’s just that they’re the team that wanted me and they showed it in late February, and I’m glad to be element of the team.”

The Colts kept the No. 1 choose, or course, and drafted Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.

Griffin said he looks forward to the challenge of taking the reins in D.C.

“I’m going to go in, attempt to just show the guys that they can trust me rather of trying to be the most vocal guy out there,” he stated. “I am a rookie, and I realize that there are veterans out there who you have to respect, and I do respect them.”

Five Teams We’d Like to See on HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’

NFL Network’s Albert Breer reported Saturday the Atlanta Falcons removed themselves from consideration for HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” meaning we’re back to the drawing board.

Exactly where to now? You won’t agree with a word of this, but right here’s my leading five:

1. Carolina Panthers — Two words: Cam Newton. The likelihood to watch 1 of the game’s most engaging young stars prepare for Year Two. The show hinges on head-coach charisma, and Ron Rivera has the moxie to pull this off. A young, driven team, utterly disappointed with last year’s record and anxious to show they’re better than 6-ten. Sign me up.

two. Washington Redskins — A year ago, if I had to pick amongst (a) nine straight hours of “Wheel of Fortune” blindfolded or (b) an equal quantity of backroom Redskins footage with eyes wide open, we’re talking about a coin flip. This is the power of Robert Griffin III.

three. San Francisco 49ers — At February’s combine, watching Jim Harbaugh in real time was a revelation: witty, irritated, humorous, brief with reporters and mystical, all wrapped into one. “Hard Knocks” couldn’t come across a far better coach-reality star in 2012.

4. New York Giants — The Jets are fine tv, but if they’re unwilling to take one more swing at the show, let’s focus on the New York team tasked with defending the globe championship, not just talking about a single.

Debate: Toughest schedule

five. New Orleans Saints — No one will go for this, but the name of this show is “Hard Knocks.” The skinny: A team that’s made grave mistakes, now forced to fight their way out of a corner. Great character development. For the players and coaches inside this organization — the ones who had nothing to do with the “bounty” fiasco — this is the education camp I want to see.

32. Jacksonville Jaguars — I can’t come across anything compelling right here. I know the gallant and mustachioed Shahid Khan is probably hot for this project, but (a) they’ve currently been featured on a version of the show and (b) as soon as was sufficient.

Honorable mention: Houston Texans, Denver Broncos (Manning wouldn’t touch it, Elway may well) and the Indianapolis Colts.

We got this all wrong, appropriate?

Report: Blache Halted Bounty System in D.C. After Williams’ Exit

A bounty method that Gregg Williams allegedly instituted for the duration of his Redskins tenure ended right after Greg Blache replaced him as defensive coordinator, two unnamed players told The Washington Post.

Williams, who ran coach Joe Gibbs’ defense from 2004 via 2007, was let go in January 2008. The two players told The Post that Blache didn’t approve of Williams’ bounty plan and discontinued it ahead of the begin of the 2008 season.

Blache, who served as defensive line coach under Williams, declined to discuss the circumstance when reached by The Post on Saturday.

“I don’t want to speak about it,” said Blache, who’s now retired and living in Wisconsin.

According to The Post’s report, Williams listed rates on opposing players’ heads, paying out added if the defender knew the player or had gone to college with him.

“It’s an ugly tradition,” stated Matt Bowen, a former security under Williams in 2004 and 2005. “I’m not proud of it.

“But the NFL is a tiny window of opportunity. The standard guidelines don’t apply. Individuals are angry about this, and I can see why from the outside. But I guarantee Gregg Williams isn’t the only a single who did this. He’s just taking the fall.”

The Post previously reported that the NFL will investigate the allegations created by five Redskins players and a former coach that Williams operated a “pay for efficiency” program comparable to the a single the league revealed he administered from 2009 to 2011 with the New Orleans Saints.

Theismann to ‘Skins: Just Say No to Peyton Manning

Ever because Joe Theismann’s appropriate leg defied the laws of anatomy on “Monday Night Football” in 1985, the quarterback position for the Redskins has been a bit, shall we say, touch and go.

Doug Williams undoubtedly produced the most of his opportunity in Super Bowl XXII and Mark Rypien had a handful of nice seasons that culminated with MVP honors in Super Bowl XXVI. But other than that, the position has been one unending revolving door for the franchise.

Like a pigskin Nostradamus, Theismann foretold the excellent terror of the John Beck Experiment final season. He’s equally apprehensive of the rumors linking Peyton Manning to the Redskins.

“It’s not a very good idea, it’s not a negative notion — it’s a horrific concept,” Theismann, now an NFL Network analyst, told 106.7 FM in Washington final week (via The Washington Post). “It would be one particular of the poorest things that we could do as a franchise. Are we gonna go uncover yet another guy for just a couple of years again? Haven’t we accomplished this ahead of? Haven’t we seen this act just before? And by the way, if you get Peyton Manning, don’t you have a concern about protecting him? Don’t you have a concern about who he throws the football to?”

Tell us how you actually really feel, Joe.

“We’re tired of seeking for stop gaps,” he continued. “It’s time to draft one of your own, or make a deal for a young 1 of your own, and nurture him, and then put the players about him. If we’re gonna be five-11, if we’re gonna be 6-10, let’s do it with somebody who’s (understanding as he goes), instead of guys that have been right here, creating errors.”

Theismann is an unrequited Redskins homer, but he’s generating plenty of sense right here. The ‘Skins are in start-over mode, and bringing in a 36-year-old quarterback off 3 neck surgeries makes about as considerably sense as, well, placing your trust in Beck.

Nine days following getting fired as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ coach, Raheem Morris landed on his feet, telling the Tampa Bay Occasions on Wednesday that he’ll be the Washington Redskins’ defensive backs coach.

Morris told the newspaper that Redskins coach Mike Shanahan will not stop him from looking for an chance as a defensive coordinator next season.

“Mike has my best interest at heart, there’s no question,” Morris said. “And that was element of the selling point, it makes me want to be element of an organization with a man like that who can look you in the face and tell you he’s got your very best interest at heart and you can think in those issues he’s telling you. In this profession, that’s rare, and I’m just grateful for the chance to learn from him.”

Morris stated he also interviewed for the Minnesota Vikings’ defensive coordinator position, but he didn’t want to keep the Redskins waiting.

“They had been the 1st ones to approach me,” stated Morris, who went 17-31 in 3 seasons as the Bucs’ coach. “They talked about giving me time to give them an answer, but I didn’t want to screw up a good factor with a fantastic organization. They had been patient, they waited and gave me time to go by way of the procedure. But I’ve been a head coach, and I know how tough it is when you feel like you’re obtaining the runaround, and I wanted to be fair to everybody in Washington.”

Morris’ arrival in Washington comes amid signals that it’s the finish for two other Redskins coaches. Longtime safeties coach Steve Jackson and wide receivers coach Keenan McCardell will not be supplied new contracts, sources told The Washington Post on Wednesday.
