 Bills Re Sign Kicker Rian Lindell

Joe Buscaglia of WGR 550 in Buffalo reports that the Bills have agreed to terms with kicker Rian Lindell to an undisclosed contract.

Lindell was scheduled to hit free agency next month. The 35-year-old missed eight games due to a shoulder injury in 2011.

Lindell hit 13-of-15 field aim tries just before the injury. He has been Buffalo’s kicker since 2003, and figures to retain the job in 2012.

UPDATE: Rodney McKissic of the Buffalo News reports that the deal is worth $ 3 million annually. The length of Lindell’s contract remains unknown.

    Really great kicker. Frankly with who replaced him, I have tiny faith on his replacement to fill his shoes when it comes time to evaluate other kickers.

Colts’ Manning to Have Neck Re-Evaluated on Wednesday

Peyton Manning told reporters Sunday following but another Indianapolis Colts loss that he’s set to have an additional X-ray/checkup on his surgically repaired neck this Wednesday, but he gave no indication in regard to how his rehab is progressing.

“I’ll almost certainly check in with y’all this week,” stated Manning, via the Indianapolis Star.

Manning underwent neck surgery Sept. 8 — his third such operation in 19 months — and has been out indefinitely because the operation.

Manning has not been placed on season-ending injured reserve, and the Star reported the Colts stay hopeful he will be able to practice at some point in December.

Browns RB Hillis Re-Injures Hamstring During Practice Friday

Cleveland Browns operating back Peyton Hillis re-injured his hamstring during practice Friday, The Plain Dealer reported, and it does not look probably that he’ll return to the field this weekend against the Houston Texans.

Hillis aggravated this injury in the course of a run up the middle, firing both the ball and his helmet to the turf in anger. The Plain Dealer reported Hillis limped to the sidelines following the play and met with team trainers with his head down and his hands at his hips.

Hillis sat out the past two games since of the injury but returned to practice Thursday and hoped to begin Sunday against the Texans.
