Bills Vs Browns

It’s time for Week 3 in the NFL. Initial, I’ll discuss the meeting amongst the Buffalo Bills and the Cleveland Browns. Immediately after two weeks of play, the Bills offense ranks at 7th all round (1st in rushing, 28th in passing…OUCH!!), and the defense ranks tied for 25th (24th rush, 23rd pass). The Browns offense ranks 22nd all round (tied for 11th in rushing, and 23rd in passing), and the defense ranks tied for 29th overall (18th rush, and 28th pass). Both the Bills and the Browns have very excellent offensive lines, and extremely good running backs (RB’s). Both teams’ defensive coordinators [Dave Wannstedt and Dick Jauron] will have their hands full on Sunday as they try and slow down their opponents rushing attacks.

This game will be a difficult battle, so don’t let the Browns -two record fool you. The Browns are a hard, young team with a lot of talent and upside. The Bills will have to play a extremely very good game to come away with their 1st road win because opening day in 2011. My prediction for the game: Bills 23, Browns 17.

Immediately after going 11-5 in my predictions for Week 1, I went 8-8 last week (19-13 all round). Let’s see if I can rebound on my predictions for Week three:
Panthers over the Giants (Giants have also numerous injuries)
Rams more than the Bears (Dissention is starting in Chicago)
Bills more than the Browns (Spiller the Thriller continues…)
Cowboys more than the Buccaneers (watch out for the kneel downs)
Colts more than Jaguars (Hey Ray Bentley, its JAG-WARS not JAG-WIRES!!)
Jets over Dolphins
49ers over the Vikings
Saints more than the Chiefs
Lions over the Titans
Bengals over the Redskins (Losing Orakpo &amp Carriker is going to hurt the Redskins D huge time)
Eagles over Cardinals
Falcons over the Chargers
Texans more than the Broncos
Steelers over the Raiders
Ravens more than the Patriots
Packers over the Seahawks

Week 2 Predictions

Now that week 1 in the NFL is in the books, it’s time to get ready for week 2. As in most cases every single year, there are some teams that commence off like a cannonball getting shot out of a cannon, then coming crashing swiftly back down to earth. On the other hand, there are teams tripped over their shoelaces at the starting line, then quickly catch up to speed. Only time will inform this season who those teams are.

Last week, I went 11-5 in my predictions. Since I didn’t make an official post, I’ll recap my Week 1 predictions:
Giants over Cowboys
Bears over Colts
Falcons over Chiefs
Eagles more than Browns
Saints more than Redskins
Lions over Rams
Patriots over Titans
Bills more than Jets
Texans more than Dolphins
Seahawks over Cardinals
49ers more than Packers
Panthers over Buccaneers
Broncos over Steelers
Ravens more than Bengals
Chargers more than Raiders

Here are my week two predictions:

Packers 31, Bears 27
In a extremely close game that could go either way, I really feel the Packers will edge out the Bears. The Bears have improved in the offseason, but we want to see them beat a significant contender 1st, instead of a rebuilding Colts team.

Bills 31, Chiefs 29
One more very close game that could go either way. Last year, the Bills demolished the Chiefs 41-7 in the season opener, but that was final year. Both the Chiefs and the Bills lost convincingly to their week 1 opponents, and look to redeem themselves in week two.

Saints 38, Panthers 20
Are the Saints 1 of the week 1 teams that tripped themselves up at the beginning line? That is very attainable. I see the Saints rebounding this week over the Panthers.

Bengals 30, Browns 19
Neither group looked very good last week. The Bengals had the daunting task of taking on the defending AFC North division champs, the Ravens on the road in Baltimore, and had been beaten soundly in all 3 phases of the game. The Browns on the other hand were in “the battle of the interceptions” as Browns rookie QB Brandon Weeden and Eagles QB Mike Vick had 4 interceptions every. I like the Bengals at property on this one particular.

Vikings 27, Colts 23
Both the Colts and Vikings are rebuilding, so this is an additional game that could go either way.

Texans 31, Jaguars 13
Texans are proving that they are a top rated contender in the AFC, even though the Jaguars hired former Bills HC Mike Mularkey, who was lately fired as the Falcons Offensive Coordinator (OC). Texans will prove to be as well considerably for the Jaguars.

Raiders 20, Dolphins 12
Each the Raiders and Dolphins continue their HC and QB carousel. The Dolphins have lost as well considerably in the offseason and appear to have 1 of the worst records in the NFL this year. Benefit: Raiders.

Patriots 40, Cardinals 13
The Patriots have arguably a single of the ideal offenses in the NFL, which will prove to be as well considerably for the Cardinals on Sunday.

Giants 20, Buccaneers 17
The Giants look to rebound right after finding beat by division rivals, the Cowboys in the season opener. Can the Bucs take advantage of the injuries to the Giants secondary? In a game that could go either way, I’m seeking for the defending Superbowl champs to rebound this week.

Ravens 41, Eagles ten
Anticipate a Baltimore beat down of epic proportions on Sunday. If Eagles fans had issues about their team going into the season, they really should be very concerned this Sunday. In a town that booed Santa Claus, count on Eagles fans to be calling for the whole coaching staff and Mike Vick to be fired!!

Cowboys 27, Seahawks 15
Are the Cowboys legit this year? For Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ sake, they much better be as Jones put a lot of resources into the team in the offseason.

Redskins 34, Rams 27
Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (RGIII) showed in week 1 that he was worth the extremely heavy investment the team put into him in this year’s draft. Are Rams fans going to be second guessing the trade with Redskins for RGIII? If Rams QB Sam Bradford does not turn out to be a probowl player that leads the team to multiple playoff wins, then Rams fans will begin their grumbling.

Jets 27, Steelers 23
The important to this game will come down to whoever can get the most pressure on the opposing QB. I like the Jets in a close a single.

Chargers 20, Titans 18
In a game that could go either way, I see the Chargers squeaking by on this a single.

49ers 31, Lions 20
49ers look to be a single of the far more dominating teams in the NFC this year. The 49ers already beat the Lions division rivals the Packers in week 1, and look to do the same against them. I like the 49ers at house.

Falcons 31, Broncos 27
Each the Falcons and Broncos have produced significant upgrades in the offseason. The Falcons hired Dirk Koetter as their OC, and Mike Nolan as their Defensive Coordinator. The Broncos acquired arguably one particular of the very best QB’s in the game this offseason, Peyton Manning. In a game that could go either way, I give the edge to the Falcons, only because of the restricted quantity of time Manning has had so far with the Broncos. If this game took place towards the finish of the season, I would lean more towards the Broncos.

You Can’t Keep Colt McCoy Away from Work with Browns

Cleveland (NFL/Newsfeed) – On Thursday morning, the Cleveland Browns leaked information that they expected Colt McCoy to make a “big leap forward” in 2012. By Thursday night, he was on the trade block.

Monday has arrived, and McCoy is back where he started: The Browns’ team facility. Tom Withers of The Associated Press noted that McCoy was present for the team’s offseason system.

Genuinely, what alternative does he have?

Jason La Canfora of NFL Network tells ATL that the Browns count on McCoy to be back on the team. The Browns can’t get anything for him in a trade unless some injury pops up on an additional team during education camp. It appears the Browns won’t push McCoy out the door, and he’s clearly not pushing to leave.

It’s all a little awkward because the Browns clearly see Brandon Weeden as their starter. Give McCoy credit for realizing that his greatest chance to really compete for snaps remains with the Browns.

Spielman Says Vikings Had Other Offers on Table for No. 3 Pick

Minneapolis (NFL/Newsfeed) – Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman rebuffed the notion that he “fleeced” the Cleveland Browns by trading the No. 3 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, allowing Cleveland to pick former Alabama operating back Trent Richardson.

In the wake of Friday’s very first huge draft-day deal, some reports speculated that the Browns could have taken Richardson with the No. 4 pick they originally held because the Vikings had been bluffing about other feasible trades.

“We did have offers on the table, I can tell you that. I’m not going to tell you who or what. But I will say Cleveland did the correct thing,” Spielman told the St. Paul Pioneer Press on Monday.

“I believe both teams benefited from that trade,” Spielman stated. “Cleveland got a very exclusive operating back (Trent Richardson), and it’s very essential for their offense — and I assume we had been able to achieve what we wanted.”

The Vikings took former USC left tackle Matt Kalil with the No. 4 pick. They also received fourth-, fifth- and seventh-round picks from the Browns.

Spielman sounded very pleased with the alternative of Kalil.

“You look at the free of charge-agent marketplace each and every year,” he told the newspaper. “You’ve seen some fairly excellent receivers who hit the industry this year. You’ve seen some corners who hit the marketplace this year. But I can’t don’t forget when a premier left tackle ever has been out there to hit the market. That’s the other piece of it that you think about.”

Browns’ Mike Holmgren Believes in Brandon Weeden

Cleveland Browns coach Pat Shurmur believes outstanding quarterback play “brings synergy to the whole team.”

The Browns’ selection of Brandon Weeden with their second initial-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft seemed to be irrefutable proof they no longer think Colt McCoy could give that synergy.

So what’s subsequent? Shurmur was coy on the topic, and team president Mike Holmgren was similarly vague during a news conference Saturday.

“I like him a lot,” Holmgren said of McCoy, according to The Plain Dealer. “He’s tough, but (we) nevertheless wanted to see if somebody else could be the man.”

Those have to be stinging words for McCoy, whose time in Cleveland clearly is up despite never receiving the assist on offense that Weeden receives as he walks in the door with running back Trent Richardson.

“We felt we required to establish the run in this city, this weather,” Holmgren mentioned.

Holmgren believes McCoy can stay on the roster and compete with Weeden for a spot. Holmgren wasn’t interesting in discussing any hypotheticals about McCoy’s future.

“I usually had 4 quarterbacks in camp when I was coaching,” Holmgren mentioned. “Of course, when you get to 52 players, that’s some thing else.

“I’m not going to speculate on something,” Holmgren added. “We’ll wait and see.”

1 other interesting note: The Browns had two short conversations with the Indianapolis Colts about the No. 1 general pick and Andrew Luck. Holmgren stated 1 of the talks lasted 5 minutes.

Peyton Hillis Leaves Browns for Fresh Start with Chiefs

Peyton Hillis has found a new house.

The Kansas City Chiefs announced Wednesday through Twitter they have agreed to terms with the former Browns running back. Contract facts have however to be disclosed.

Hillis became a fan preferred with the Browns in 2010, when he emerged to lead Cleveland with 1,177 yards and nine touchdowns. He added 477 yards and two a lot more scores through the air, turning heads league-wide and winning the “Madden NFL 12″ cover-boy contest.

From there, nevertheless, things soured, with Hillis battling by way of an injury-plagued 2011 campaign laced with whispers of lockerroom tension and thoughts of retirement for a career with the CIA, which the 6-foot-2, 250-pound back labeled as “ridiculous.”

Rams Willing to Trade Down

Rams willing to trade down

 Rams Willing to Trade Down

It’s widely believed that the Colts will pick a quarterback with the 1st selection in the 2012 draft. It’s also widely believed that the Rams will then auction the ability to take the subsequent quarterback with the second choice in the 2012 draft to the highest bidder.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported earlier right now that several teams already have had preliminary discussions with the Rams, that the Rams are willing to trade the pick, and that the Rams likely will finish up performing so.

The team that makes the most sense is the Browns, given that they hold the fourth overall pick and the 22nd pick, which they acquired as component of the Julio Jones trade. And coach Pat Shurmur left the door open to a possible trade up, telling reporters that the team would not “be hesitant at all” to make a move.

“You evaluate anything,” Shurmur mentioned, according to the News-Journal. “I wouldn’t say we’re hesitant to do anything. We’re excited about the fact that we’re going to make our team greater with this draft. That’s the way we strategy it. We’re not hesitant at all.

“We can just stand pat and take two truly fine players, guys that we would hope to be starters for us. Getting two 1st-round picks, you have flexibility if you want to do something.”

Yep. They’re gonna attempt to trade up. Or, as offensive coordinator Brad Childress would say, the notion of trading up isn’t a programmatic non-fit.

Rams or Vikings aren’t going to take a qb… Why would they trade up again?

Fisher reported they would trade down weeks ago.

Cleveland tends to make the most sense, they get RGIII and the Rams get Blackmon and yet another initial rounder. Maybe OL???

  3. Soulman45 says: Feb 23, 2012 11:21 PM

    Frist to say

That is a steal Julo Jones for the 1st or 2nd greatest QB in the draft that is a wonderful move.
