Raiders Decide on Broncos DC Allen to Be Their Next Coach

The Oakland Raiders agreed to employ Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen as their subsequent coach, league sources mentioned Tuesday night.

NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reported earlier Tuesday that the Raiders had been close to finalizing a deal with Allen, who now becomes the NFL’s youngest head coach at 39 years and 124 days old.

New Raiders common manager Reggie McKenzie, who’s at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., told Comcast SportsNet Bay Area earlier in the day that he had scheduled a Tuesday night interview with Allen but hadn’t but created a final selection.

Allen will be the initial defensive-oriented Raiders coach considering that John Madden was hired ahead of the 1969 season. Oakland most likely wanted a defensive thoughts right after ranking 29th in total defense this season.
